Davey’s Spring Photos

OK, so I gotta say one thing.  You cannot get too many cute kid photos.  It just isn’t possible.  Trust me, I’ve been photographing my own cute kids for almost 13 years. (Egads, how did I get so old?  Seriously.  I must have had my first one when I was like 7. Only explaination, right?)

When talking about cute kids that aren’t my own… well… who do you think?  We’re right back to little Davey.  That’s right, I was supposed to be taking engagement photos for Aaron and Tara, but oh no.  I had to shoot pictures of their little boy, Davey.  Why?

That’s right.  Cause he’s darn cute!

I asked Aaron, is Davey going to be in your wedding party?  He said, No way! I’d get upstaged.

He was right. I mean look at this kid!

This kid is definitely too cute for words and absolutely capable of distracting the world with said cuteness.

There should be a crime against being this cute.

Of course I had to take a picture of him going down the slide… I mean how cute is a kid going down the slide? Oh yeah, this cute:

And one final photo:

Was that enough cuteness?  I’m telling you that I’m not so sure this post was safe for work.  Or home.

Now I’m going to make a shameless wish here, and hopefully his parents will see it.  I really want to become this kid’s photographer.  When Aaron adopts Davey, I want to be there.  When Davey goes to school, I want to be there.  When Davey graduates 8th grade… you guessed it… I want to be there.  I love this kid and he just makes me melt!

Creating Family

Recently I got to shoot some really fun engagement photos and had a total ball with my friend and his future wife.  Along for the ride was one of the cutest boys in my town. Since it had been a while for he and his mother to have an opportunity to get family photos and their little family was changing… I threw in some family photos.  After all, weddings are about making families, and this family is just way too adorable.

I gotta tell you, we may have been shooting some family photos but this kiddo stole the show.  It was good to see the bond forming between the three of them!

As you can see, I’m playing with different ways to show you all photos.  Let me know what you think.  Mostly I am swamped because we’re getting ready to go to my brother-in-law’s wedding and I don’t have the time to hand put in images.  There’s some neat tricks I thought I’d use…

Now, I gotta get the van loaded so we can head off!  I’m not the photographer, but oh how there will be photos!  Besides, I’ve already heard that while in New Jersey I’m apparently supposed to be taking some family portraits.  So watch the blog for some new work coming soon!

Have a great weekend!  I’m down-scope with the lack of reliable internet… never fear though… I have my camera, I have books, and I’m ready to roll!

Aaron and Tara Are Getting Married!

So I’m sitting in Nationals Stadium on Opening Day with some friends and my cell phone rings. I see from the glorious caller ID that it is a friend of mine we occasionally have over to play games and BBQ with.

“Hello?” I answer, plugging my ear and hoping to hear over the stadium noise.

Aaron asks what I am doing on August 1st, because he might need to me to be somewhere… to see him… and a girl. A girl? And a specific date? I may not be the brightest bulb in the chandelier but that seemed like a no brainer to me!

“Would you be needing photos before this day as well?”

Sure enough… they did! My friend, Aaron, is getting married! Tara and I quickly became Facebook friends and I must say that after getting to know her I highly approve of this joining! They are a fun loving couple and I’m happy that my dear Aaron has met such a delightful woman! Once all this wedding insanity is over, I hope we can have some good times firing up the BBQ and trying new board games!

We settled on using the Kenmore area of Historic Fredericksburg, VA for their photo shoot. It was a Sunday afternoon, the weather was perfect, and we had a really great time. The thing I like about engagement photos is seeing how the couple interact. There is nothing quite like the blush of new love!

Aaron and Tara have planned their noon-time wedding for August 1, 2009 in Historic Virginia. I look forward to spending their happy day with them!
