My name is Jacalyn, and I am your new photographer. I’ll be there for your engagement and wedding, to document your pregnancy, to photograph your children. I’ll stand by you as you traverse the ups and downs of life and capture your story as it unfolds.
Inside my heart hides a storyteller. Everyone has their own tale to tell and I want to document it. Read below for my story.
One of the last gifts my grandmother gave was a cheap little 110 film camera. Watch out world, a tween with film! I moved on to Polaroid Instamatics and finally to 35mm. My grandfather loved to paint and would photograph scenes for painting one day and somewhere along the way with his influence I went from viewing photographs as snapshots to art.
I’m half gypsy and love to travel. I married my husband in 1994 and since then lived in 12 homes within 4 states from Virginia to Arizona. There’s just something about packing up and heading out that carries excitement!
I have many interests and tried many things. Mostly I’m just one wacky girl with a camera. I sing, I dance, I play dress up with costumes I make, I love motorcycles, I’m a huge bookworm, sushi is super yummy, thrill rides are awesome, and one day I dream of photographing the first wedding on the Moon. So yeah… pick your passion and let me join in!
I currently live in the greater DC area and so a lot of my work centers around Northern Virginia. In 2008 I flew to Arizona and in 2009 I’m driving to NC just to photograph weddings. I can easily get to anywhere with three major airports, loads of highway and my GPS, Amtrack, and ports to sea. So call me and let’s party!
